OCI 2016 Participants!
A major theme of the OCI 2016 is “Cultivating Equity-Centred Research Practices through the CCGHR Principles for Global Health Research.” Your group work time, as well as many of the workshops are based on this theme. It is threaded throughout the program between Friday and Sunday, with each step building on your earlier reflections. Please see below for preparatory work to be completed before the start of the OCI 2016, and be prepared to discuss at the workshop.

Pre-Workshop Prep
- Read the CCGHR Principles for Global Health Research and watch the video.
- Read the set of case studies, giving the greatest attention to your assigned case (general familiarity with the others is fine).
- Consider the following questions, and be prepared to share your thoughts:
- How do these principles fit with your own comfort zone? Where do they stretch you the most?
- What disciplinary values do these principles align well with, confront, or challenge?
- How could these principles inform different parts of the research process? How do you think practicing the principles might change across the research spectrum?
- If you think about putting these principles into practice, what points in the research process would doing so be the most challenging? Are there paradoxes that you might encounter?
